Now I will explain why I ordered the 1/8" NPT fittings. Most people would
probably run braided lines directly to the radiator, but I opted to leave a
small portion of my hard lines in place, because it would keep the braided lines
away from the alternator belt, and I wouldn't have to make any brackets for the
lines to route them neatly. Some might say I was just being lazy...
Here is a plug and socket with 1/8" NPT ends. Oh, wait! I forgot to
apologize earlier for the poor quality of some of my photos. My digital camera
was pretty good 5 years ago, but not quite up to snuff with today's cameras.
So - No mom, I was not drunk when I took these photos...
Plug and socket installed on hard lines:
Next, I installed the 200T1 transmission kit on my Turbo-400. Because the fittings
require a 5/8" wrench, there was no way to fit a line wrench in there, so I had
to use a crow's foot. It was worth the extra 10 minutes it took, considering
that the next time the transmission has to come out, it will take 5 seconds to
use the quick-connects.
